What the meaning of cholesterol?

Our bodies definitely need energy for your everyday activities. Energy comes from the food and beverage intake. Various certain foods containing fats, nutrients, proteins, carbohydrates and much that we eat contain cholesterol, saturated fat and unsaturated fat. These three elements are stored in fat into the body for energy combustion process. The question is what kind of cholesterol that?

Cholesterol is a lipid molecule such as can be found in the bloodstream and cells. Cholesterol is produced by the liver and is required for the metabolism of the body, such as helping the formation of new cells and hormones. However, it should not be excessive. Remember that excess cholesterol can lead to accumulation of fat in the blood and can clog blood vessels. The next result is the heart and brain to be deprived of blood supply that can lead to heart attack and stroke risk.

High cholesterol levels in the blood is called hypercholesterolemia. Hyperlipidemia caused by a number of major lipids in the blood (cholesterol or triglycerides) too much, so that impaired lipid metabolism or transport disorders. The risk is that you will have a genetic disorder (familial primary) and cause other diseases (such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, liver disease, or kidney).

There are several types of cholesterol. First, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), also known as bad cholesterol. Containing 75 percent LDL cholesterol and little protein. Its function is to drain cholesterol throughout the body. If the LDL level is too much it will cause a buildup of fat in the arteries. Second, High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL), also known as good cholesterol. HDL contains a lot of protein and 20-30 percent of cholesterol circulate throughout the body. Its function is to remove excess cholesterol from cells and artery walls and brought back to the liver for disposal. Third, Triglycerides, which plays a role in fat storage and influential in the formation of cholesterol-rich lipoproteins. Lipoprotein is what causes high cholesterol and improve blood clot formation.
